Strikingly beautiful fine glass marbles with a space theme
Andrew Lazenby does beautiful lampwork which you can find on the Blue Goose studio Etsy shop or through their website. We noticed Andrew’s art because of his skill with contemporary glass marbles and unique memorial pieces. He captures space scenes with a contemporary artistic twist. His thoughtful use of color and subtle use of silver fuming really sets his work apart. Andrew is not as well known as many of the other artists we’ve covered. But, his work compares with the best space glass artists out there. Andrew’s eye for color and composition alone makes his work worth checking out.
Glass marble memorials
Andrew creates unique memorial marbles created with cremation ashes. Andrew’s marbles memorialize a lost loved one by incorporating them in a unique piece of art. Embedded in the final piece is a small amount of ashes mixed with the glass and pigments. Here at Galaxy Glassworks we love the idea of a lost loved one contained in a permanent piece of space themed art. Neil deGrasse Tyson said it best: “we’re all cosmic dust!”
Purchasing Andrew’s work
Note that the availability of Andrew Lazenby’s art is quite limited on the Blue Goose Studio Etsy shop. It will likely be necessary to reach out to him through his website. Another thing to keep in mind is that Andrew’s current pricing for custom pieces is comparable to many of the retail prices from other artists. So if you have a specific concept in mind isn’t being sold by anyone else, you should reach out to Andrew and see if he can create a custom piece. It may be less expensive than you’d expect.
